Emergency dental care and same-day treatment

Dentist Serving Menomonee Falls, WI

Urgent visits the same day whenever possible, with CEREC crowns made in the office.

Menomonee Falls is a village in Waukesha County, and the I-41 and US 45 freeway runs from it south to North Avenue in Wauwatosa, where the dental office sits at the corner of N 116th St. When a tooth cracks at dinner or a dull ache turns sharp overnight, waiting weeks for a routine opening is not a good plan. The team offers same-day emergency appointments whenever possible, so an urgent problem can be looked at quickly. Many broken teeth can be restored in a single visit with a CEREC crown that is designed and milled in the office, which means you leave with the final restoration instead of a temporary. Call (414) 462-3160 as soon as the trouble starts and describe what happened, and the team will help you plan the visit.

Urgent Dental Care North of Wauwatosa

Menomonee Falls, home to the Main Street Historic District and the Kohl’s headquarters, lies to the northwest of Wauwatosa, and WIS 100 links the two as well. Wauwatosa Dental Arts has served Wauwatosa and the greater Milwaukee area since 1981 and offers same-day emergency appointments whenever possible.

Signs It Is Time to Call Today

  • Throbbing or worsening tooth pain Pain that keeps you awake or returns quickly after medication often means decay or a crack has reached the nerve.
  • Swelling in the face or jaw Puffiness around a tooth can be a sign of infection and should be examined promptly.
  • A cracked, chipped or split tooth Sharp edges irritate the tongue and cheek, and a deeper fracture lets bacteria reach the inner tooth.
  • A tooth knocked out or pushed out of place The sooner it is treated, the better the odds of keeping it.
  • A crown, bridge or filling that came off The uncovered tooth is weaker and more sensitive until it is protected again.
  • Bleeding or injured gums, lips or tongue Bleeding that does not stop with steady pressure needs a professional look. Emergency dental care

What Happens at a Same-Day Visit

  • A phone call first Describing your symptoms lets the team prepare and find the earliest available time.
  • Imaging that shows the whole tooth Cone beam CT, 3D X-rays and intraoral scanners help the dentist see the tooth, its root and the surrounding bone.
  • Relief before anything else The first priority is easing the pain and bringing any infection under control.
  • A repair matched to the damage Depending on the tooth, that may be a filling, a crown or root canal therapy, guided by an electronic apex locator. Same-day CEREC crowns

For a tooth that needs a crown, CAD/CAM technology lets the dentist scan the break, design the restoration on screen and mill it from tooth-colored ceramic in the office. That avoids a second appointment and the temporary crown that a lab-made restoration usually involves.

Before You Arrive, and the Practical Details

  • Toothache: rinse with warm salt water and hold a cold pack against the outside of the cheek
  • Knocked-out adult tooth: pick it up by the top rather than the root and keep it moist in milk if it cannot go back in the socket
  • Broken tooth: save any pieces and cover a sharp edge with sugar-free gum or dental wax
  • Swelling: use cold rather than heat and call the office promptly

The office is open 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday and closed Friday, and weekend appointments are available by request. The practice works with many major insurance plans, reviews costs with you before treatment begins and offers financing through CareCredit and Lending Club. Directions and contact details are on the contact page.

Menomonee Falls Patients: Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a dental office in Menomonee Falls?
No, the office is in Wauwatosa, at 11600 W North Ave, Wauwatosa, WI 53226. Menomonee Falls lies to the northwest, and the I-41 and US 45 freeway connects the two with exits at North Avenue. In an emergency, call before you set out so the team can prepare for your arrival.
Can I get an emergency appointment today?
Same-day emergency appointments are offered whenever possible. Calling early in the day gives the team the most room to fit you in. When you call, describe what happened and where it hurts so the team knows what to prepare for your visit.
Can a new patient call for an urgent visit?
Yes, you can call about an urgent problem even if you have not been to the office before. For a first visit, bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of your medications and any recent X-rays. Once the urgent issue is under control, the dentist will explain any follow-up care the tooth may need.
Can a broken tooth be fixed in one visit?
Often it can, because crowns are designed and milled in the office with CAD/CAM CEREC technology. The dentist scans the tooth, shapes the crown on screen and bonds the finished ceramic restoration the same day. Whether a single visit is possible depends on how much of the tooth is left and whether the nerve is involved.
What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?
Pick the tooth up by the top, not the root, and get to a dentist as quickly as you can. If it is dirty, rinse it briefly without scrubbing, and try to set it back in the socket. If that is not possible, carry it in a small container of milk and call the office on the way.
How much will emergency treatment cost?
The cost depends on what the tooth needs, and the team reviews it with you before any treatment begins. The practice works with many major insurance plans and offers multiple payment options. Financing is also available through CareCredit and Lending Club.

Dental arts association in tosa is amazing. Their hygienist Jeanie is the best! Friendly, easy to talk to extremely knowledgeable. She had to do a deep cleaning on my teeth and gums. I’ve never felt this type of relief from a hygienist in a long time. I would highly recommend them 10 out of 10.

I cannot recommend these guys enough, if you need ANY sort of dental work, cleaning, fillings, fixing a chipped tooth, Wauwatosa Dental Arts is the best place to go to hands down. I found them when I needed to fix a chipped tooth, not only did they find availability the very next day, they reassured me the entire process and made sure my new tooth still fit my retainer and I left feeling confident about my new smile. Thank you for making dentistry less scary!!
